    find them working

'YOU'RE GOING TO FIND US WORKING'

"So here's what we're going to fight for, and we're going to fight for it every single day, not just through this election, but from the day we win until the day we raise our hands and every day thereafter. You're not going to have to look for us on vacation. You're going to find us working for America." --- Kerry Delivers Remarks At Campaign Event, Cleveland, OH, 7/7/04

Kerry has missed more than 80% of Senate votes this year, the AP reports.

He also said that he'd return to the Senate immediately "whenever his vote would make a difference on important legislation".

He's decided it's more important to become the next president than to be "present" at Senate votes. If he would do the opposite, the Bush campaign would accuse him of not wanting to be president enough or something

This "article" is based on the new Bush ad that claims -amongst other things- that "Kerry missed a vote to fund our troops in combat". Entirely correct, but they forget to mention that the vote passed 95 to 0. It could have been 96-0 with Kerry present. Wow, that would've looked much better.

that was in respone to the state asking him to step down so someone else could take over which he wouldn't do.

it doesn't matter if the vote passed 51 to 49 or 99 to 1, the fact is he wasn't there, hasnt been there and will not let someone else do the job.

Tedob1 : thats not how the senet works, the outcome of most votes are basicly knowen long before the vote happens, its very commen for senetors to miss votes that they would have no ability to affect...if a important vote is going to be close every one will show uip, likewise if a yes/no vote will look good on your political recored every one will show up, other wise its very rare to have all the senetors there for any givein vote.

Wow you are all saying the senate is useless. I disagree, but if that is the case why even consider Kerry since he's in a useless position? Where his input doesn't matter one little bit. Add Edwards and that makes 2 insignificant positions.

but dont you think that a person that casts the stone "your not going to have to look for us on vacation" should themselves be working?

No road closed what im saying is that the votes in the senet are mear fomailities every thing is decided in commity and the power brokering sessions long before the vote is held, by the day of the vote the issue has allready been decided...if it will e a close vote every one shows up, if not well you get the junior senetors and not much else.

If votes in the senate or "formailities" then that is the same as "useless"

OK I made up my mind, the democratic party has nothing but 2 people who are mere "formailities" running for president. They are just figure heads and do nothing all day unless someone greases them enough or pays enough to make them interested in the topic. That "must" be the reason that presidents elected from senate seats are very rare. Only twice I think? Or at most just a few times. (humor disclaimer)
