Soda got hijacked or AO got popups
On updated IE, Fox, and Kmeleon, I have been getting pop ups on AO. I don't know just yet if I have malware on my machine, or if AO has a new marketing strategy. Prelim scans with AdAw and SBS&D have come up blank.
The pop up directs me here.

http://amch.questionmarket.com Check this out, kinda weird.
After this post I'm going into safe mode scanning. Its weird that I havent received these pop ups from other sites, only AO. After my scans, depending on intrest I will post my HJT and other logs.

Interesting. Need something like a sniffer to trace that it's in fact coming from AO or if it's coming from somewhere else. I'm going to point this out to intmon because AFAIK, there never was an intention to use pop-ups. I don't get pop-ups on my machine. Then again, I use slack 10 with adblocker on my Mozilla 1.7.
Hrmm...
Random thought: someone using messenger to cause pop-ups on browsers? I've never known pop-ups to come from foxfire (thought the default was to have it off). The only consistency is Windows platform (I assume that's what you're using given the IE)

soda... I think you may want to check your machine... I've used FF0.92, no pop ups... IE 5.5 no add blocker, still no popups... and IE6 with google toolbar, again still no popups... on WinXP and Win98
then again I've just read the other thread... which I find most curious.....
edit... I do have messenger service disabled on XP by the way

cacosapo I was referring to messenger service, not MSN.
Given the number of posts about this and apparent discussion, I've put in a question with intmon to see if the policy has changed on the ads here or if a new advertising campaign has started. (adding popup ads).

LOL, three others, including myself had the same crap. From a reliable source, this is indeed the work of Jup media.

or you have an anti-ad software?
I dont have any installed here. The only "odd" software i have installed here is IE Windows Maximizer. Everything else looks regular.
