    Question open ports question

    my firewall alerts me which ports is getting hit and tell me the source ip address and the port number on my computer.
    So whenever i am running a port scanner to located the service that is open, for example to close the connection, the port number does not exit or match. Why?

    The firewall alerts you that someone is trying to connect to the port xxxx of your machine, but it doesn't means that you have this port open... Only that they try to connect there...
