    Hello all...
Am having same problem with dialer.8.ap.
Have tried most, if not all of the suggestions above including AVG, Sysclean from Trend Micro, AdawareSE and manually deleting the file in DOS (OS is Win98SE).
    Still no joy.
    Any other thoughts?
    Your help is appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

When I run into this problem and safe mode isn't helping at all, I just take the drive out and hook it up as a slave in another box. No files should be active on the secondary drive now, and it makes scanning/cleaning a whole lot easier. I guess it's kinda a pain, and doesn't help much if you only have 1 computer or are uncomfortable taking apart computers, but I enjoy it and it has always worked for me as a last resort
