    Red face Symantec Firewall/VPN Appliance

    hey everyone
    im new to security and i got a question

    im trying to secure my network with a firewall
    im thinking about geting the ==Symantec Firewall/VPN Appliance 100== to provide max security against hackers & viruses

    i need this answer to come from a major computer security expert
    would i benafit buying this router if im not going to be using VPN
    just using it for the firewall

    or should i just buy a basic netgear or linksys router!!

    You have not provided enough information to even come close to allowing major computer security experts to provide you with 1337 infoz that you seek.

    So then, your question is the equivalent of asking this:

    When driving in a car, is it dangerous even if I don't use the windshield wipers? Should I just ride a bike instead?

    Slightly besides topic, has anyone tried Symantec's firewall's new IPS functionnalities? Does it work well? Does it need much tweaking (false positives/negatives)? Etc. Does it seem ready for prime time? Is it worth it?
