Firefox and jvm.dll
Hi All,
I've recently switched from IE to Firefox from most Internet tasks. I have an issue with the Firefox when I try to post here (also see the problem elsewhere). I've searched on the issue. I found a few hits but so far none of the hits have lead to a solution. On certain pages I receive a pop-up saying "The Java runtime environment could not be loaded from <\bin\hotspot\jvm.dll>.
I found 4 copies of this dll and I tried to work with each one. All produced the same result. I am running firefox 0.9.2 Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.2_04-b04).
The OS is win XP pro sp1. Any hints would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
-D

Some people here had the same problem, there are a few solutions mentioned so check them out and see what you can do with them.

It seems it is a java issue not a firefox one though.

Have you tried the ol' windows fix-it-all of uninstall both java and firefox, and then reinstall firefox and then java? Might fix configuration paths.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I fixed the problem with Firefox 1.0 Preview release and an older version of Java. The Java version is Standard Edition build 1.3.1_09-b03 (the uninstall reinstall of firefox did not work nor did the reinstall of Java build 1.4.2_04-b04).
Cheers,
