c++ a dud?
I found this .txt file on the interent awhile back.I forgot where it came from but I think it was from www.textfiles.com ! Now it goes into an interview with c++ creator stoustrup. Is he the creator? The thing that irritates me is that he "supposedly" created this language so it would be so hard that top programmers would be a dime a dozen and would be paid more. Just looking at a c++ book at the library confirms that to me! But I will have to learn this and I will but thats not the point!
Stroustrup: Well, one day, when I was sitting in my office, I thought of
this little scheme, which would redress the balance a little. I thought 'I
wonder what would happen, if there were a language so complicated, so
difficult to learn, that nobody would ever be able to swamp the market with
programmers? Actually, I got some of the ideas from X10, you know, X
windows. That was such a bitch of a graphics system, that it only just ran
on those Sun 3/60 things. They had all the ingredients for what I wanted.
A really ridiculously complex syntax, obscure functions, and pseudo-OO
structure. Even now, nobody writes raw X-windows
code. Motif is the only way to go if you want to retain your sanity.
umm just wanted to see your guys feed back!

I believe that C++ was written by Bjork something. It was made as an object oriented extension for C, I believe.
EDIT: I stand corrected. Bjarne Sroustrup. http://www.research.att.com/~bs/bs_faq.html
Tell me if you think I\'m spamming or doing something stupid, please.

Bjarne Stroustrup did develop c++, and his web page is here: http://www.research.att.com/~bs/homepage.html and it has a lot of useful information there.
Becuase he created the language does not mean others do not hold rights to certain libraries, headers, etc... he just invented the idea. And what a job he did. The files you were looking at were probably the propritary headers or libraries made by somebody else.
Overall, your post is confusing.

C++ is built upon the foundations of C. As a superset of C it has enhanced the language to meet the needs of more complex programs and to support OOP. C is a structured language and made writing large programs much easier...no more spaghetti code. As programs grew larger and more complex it was difficult to manage them in C. Object-oriented programming was a way to make programming large projects more managable but C did not support OOP. C++ is an object-oriented version C.
So, actually, C++ made programming easier.
C++ is not difficult. I've said it before....if anyone of average intelligence would just take the time to learn it and really understand it...it actually makes a lot of sense.
Fortran...now that's hard.

Oh, I did not understand what you meant by since you are learning it seemed to me like you had no "right" to make the post. Make the post, no need to explain yourself

Yeah, I need to fix that. I tried messing with some code and fux0red everything, so I need to reupload the files and relink the database. Like it matters anyway, the site is a POS.
