Hi guys,

I made a program that checks the files on my computer and compares an md5 signature of it to a database. I am shocked at all the stuff that is changing constantly on your Windows directory.

My question is this. This file wpa.dbl is associated with Windows XP activation. Why would the md5 sig change on it? I can't imagine what would update and why it would update. Does anyone know?

In my program I am trying to hash out false positives for changes that happen "naturally" on the Windows OS. I am creating another version for Linux. It's all still in the alpha stages.

I searched google for it and found that you can copy it off incase you need to re-activate XP. The version I am running is a corporate version and has never been registered.

Ideas?
