    Government's take on spyware

    The legislation also authorizes $10 million for the DOJ to combat spyware and phishing scams, although the bill does not specifically make phishing a crime.
    imagine where it would take everyone who's using spywares..

    Greetings:

    It probably doesn't specifically make "phishing" a crime, because it's already a crime under several exisiting statutes.

    Fraud, financial crimes, identity theft, etc. etc.

    Besides, something just seems wrong about having a law on the books that contains a word like "phishing".....
