    Most modern PCs hibernate anyway. Almost ALL do. They are already saving power. I power mine down for one simple reason. A good reboot each day.

    Quick Note: The BIOS of your computer has to have Wake on LAN Abilities Turn On. By default most BIOS have turn on but if you might find a few computers with the option turn off.

    It takes more power to start up a modern comp than it does to run it for 24 hours...

    Now monitors on the other hand... They need to be turned off when they are going to be left.
