    Heres A Site Suggestion

Why don't we quit ****ing suggesting things every hour. I for one am getting sick of the lame ass changes we have been making here.

Why do we have these changes when sometimes its only like 5 people that have posted and said they wanted it. For instance, the new AP Thread Status thing. That is a significant change to the website, and not even a whole percent of the users here said they wanted it. I mean come on, there needs to be some sort of process by which things get implemented. Im sure the admins and the owners have something but the users really need something as well. I dont know what that would be, maybe you should have to pm a moderator or an admin about an idea, JupMedia will discuss it, and then post something about it, like a 7 day poll. That would give you all a much better idea.

Or we could just lay off the suggestions for a few weeks, because im getting sick and tired of strange unfamiliar things happening here everytime i turn around. I know im just one member, and this is my opinion, but hell.. this is logical. The only reason a site needs significant updates is if there is something wrong or the user growth is slowing to a standstill, etc.

As for the heavy hitters being like mods and able to close threads with just a few assignments.. who cares? ban them, ap abuse right there. we've gone over this time and time again. The reason the top 10 people are the top 10 people isn't for no reason, its because they have the skill/proper thought process by now as to how to deal with things.

Lets stop changing AO so much..

And i don't want to hear any quotes like "Its easier to get on top than it is to stay on top."

For instance, we will use the power rangers as an example. they were cool as **** when they first started, first few seasons. It was all good. Then, they kept adding stupid **** to it, such as "Power Rangers in Space." and they totally suck now. Same thing with the Ninja Turtles. Probably my favorite cartoon characters ever, but they just kept evolving into nothingness.

This happens with the market, and everything. How bout we all just embrace AO for what it is now until we have a serious problem

    just my .0002 cents

    Hey Hey,

It may be a lot of suggestions... but that's the purpose of this forum...Who cares how much we suggest... and who cares how many people suggest it... You could suggest that the site be closed down and AO host porn from now on... doesn't mean they'll listen... The fact is regardless of how big people want to keep saying the user base is.... not that many users contribute regularly... most of the well known seniors, yourself included, surface from time to time.. but never stick around for any real length of time... you aren't steady or constant.... Who cares how many people posted support... It was suggested... It got support from regulars who post frequently and had greenie support on top of those who vocally supported it... JupM thought it was a good idea and implemented it... I agree it was a good idea.... It's their website.. and they're implementing things that we ask for... so why complain.. Why not say hey... someone is listening to us and giving us what we ask for.

    Peace,
    HT

    Greetings:

I agree, everyone's suggestions are stupid, including your suggestion about not making anymore suggestions. Well, everyone's suggestions except mine, which of course, are always right on the money.

my main problem is that too many additions to something the people already liked is emperically proven to result in either the betterment of the site, or outright failure eventually. I just think people need to chill a bit about the suggestions.

And yes JP everyone does have a different opinion, and thinks most other people's are wrong in some way. Thankyou for enlightening us that everyone in the world is different. I wasn't saying "Do my suggestion its better than all the others.." im saying, if you don't do my suggestion your are putting AO on the line.

    Hey Hey,

No Offence but who are you to say it's putting AO on the line?? The Line of what.. losing you as a member? JupM is giving members what they ask for... plain and simple... it's a good thing.. not a bad thing... Learn to accept change.

If you would read my posts, i was trying to show emperical evidence that change isn't always for th e better, especially massive change. If you change fundamental properties of antionline, or anything, you are putting that "thing" on the line for improvement or failure. Its as simple as that.

We simply need to be a bit more careful about whether or not change goes into effect so that we do not end up on the failure side of the line.

I'd suggest that the suggestion to stop suggestions until someone can suggest a suggestion worthy of being suggested is a worthy suggestion.

Can I ask a really silly question?

What are the major changes that have occured?
Antipoints being assigned to threads instead of people? Is that really a "major" change, if so how?

And about people making suggestions..if a community(which is what this is/was) feels that change needs to be made, don't they have a right to suggest whatever they see fit, have it listened to, and effectively voted up OR down by other members and/or the elders(or admins in this case)?

This is the proper forum for suggestions to be made, and obviously others don't have a problem ignoring it if they don't feel it's important enough. So, if you don't want to see suggestions, don't read this forum.

whatever the suggestions you guys give, or yell as far as you could. I think AO is at it best. I like the overall layout at the present. I think there there had been awful lot of hard work to bring AO into this stage.
