no, hell is here. We start on "hell" and go up.
I can see how you think that: You began in the era of disco music and are now working your way up.

Heh heh, sorry, I just couldn't resist.

How's that a contradiction? You have to understand here that the term "Satan" represents human nature, human desires. What they mean here is that the Christian church has always tried to surpress and condem those human desires. Without doing that, the christian church probably wouldn't have survived. So in a way, "Satan" (read: human nature) has kept the church in business for all these years.

Because someone hates small-minded stuff you can't talk about it? They talk about it because Christianity, to this day, rules the lives of millions of people even if they're not Christian. Even if they've never encountered christian people in their entire lives. It has played a major part in creating todays moral values.

If that's the case, how could you possibly say that Satanists believe in god?

Just because Satanists are trying to explain that Christianity has surpressed human desires as a whole, does not mean that any random sin from any random religion is by definition an indulgence. Just because Satanists promote indulging in human desires, does not mean they promote stupidity, lack of common sense, or going on some murderous rampage just because you feel like it. You should know this as it is all clearly explained in the Satanic Bible.

On the topic of "hell," I've never seen any scientific evidence of any afterlife whatsoever, and until I do, I will dedicate my life to my life, and not to reaching some vaguely defined perfect place I go to when I'm dead. Most people have extremely low standards when it comes to scientific proof of some sort of afterlife.
    Bleh.

Like I said, from my understanding, "hell" is from two terms meaning just to die. Nothing more, nothing less. That is one reason why when people cry you are going to burn in hell makes me laugh... Yes, we all die, that's true.

If they do not care for Christianity or whatever else, then why worry about it?

Sure you can talk about it, talk about it all day long. If something is not important, then why worry about it so much? Sure, Christianity has ruled millions of people for a long time, but to a satanist, that should be immaterial. From my understanding, it seems as if it is a "piss on you" philosophy. That's ok, they can believe what they want.

If that's the case, how could you possibly say that Satanists believe in god?
It seems not to matter in one side of the mouth, yet does on the other. It's basically, do not believe the crap the other churches have been feeding you, and buy into our brand of bullshit instead. If they do not believe in god or spiritual pipe dreams, then why perform all of this magic and other things if things are so cut and dried to begin with? It seems to me they are in a defensive standpoint. Then again, that is just my take.

That in itself is silly. If you reject something, reject it. No need to peddle backwards and say you can indulge in whatever you want because of what the other bs religions tell you, now just follow our brand of rules and sins instead. That's what made that book so funny. Such rebels...

Oh well, no big deal Franky. I am no satanist expert, nor do I care. It's just my take on it... we can argue about this all day long and will still disagree. That's ok too.

Like I said, from my understanding, "hell" is from two terms meaning just to die.
Actually, the term "hell" came to be born of metaphor. Hell was more or less a junkyard just oustide of -- if memory serves correct -- Jeruslahem (somebody correct me if my geography's wrong here). Many people disposed of dead bodies there, and thus the atmopshere and simply the mere stench was torturous to be near to say the least. Given that what we know today as "Hell" is something beyond our description, that was adopted as the best metaphor to describe it. Basically, it's like if I had walked up to you one day and said, "Yeah, you know that horrid waste facility just off of I-40 over there? Well, that's the closest thing to being in hell that I know of." So, the term hell that actually began as a dump was adopted to mean what it does today.

Most people have extremely low standards when it comes to scientific proof of some sort of afterlife.
I understand why many people hold to this, but to me, science has become just as much of a "religion" as anything else. There's plenty more to life than what science can prove.

That's just bullshit. A lot of decision makers in this world base their decisions on Christian values rooted in soceity. Just because Satanists don't like christianity doesn't mean they should hypocritically ignore it's big role in the lives of many many people.

I seriously doubt you've read the Satanic Bible from an unbiased perspective, if you've read it at all. The Satanic philosophy finds its roots in the views of recognized philosophers and psychologists like Nietzsche, Reich, Freud and Jung. Only a small portion deals with other religions.

I bet you say this when discussing any religion. You are seriously biased. I'd say you somehow had some bad experience with some religion, and now you have something against them as a whole. The word "religion" means more then worshipping some out-of-this-world entity or vaguely defined bullshit philosophy. To quote webster:
4 : a cause, principle, or system of beliefs held to with ardor and faith
Whether you like it or not, you are a religious man yourself.

If you've read the Satanic Bible, you'd know that the rituals you are refering to are functioning as emotional outlets, and not as spells to do **** in your life for you.

    Indeed. Just your take.

They don't say you can do anything you want because of what the other religions tell you, they say you can do anything you want, as long as you are willing to accept responsibility for your actions. This is, assuming one wants to call himself a Satanist to begin with. They don't force anything on anyone. You won't find Satanists collecting "souls." And the "sins" you talk about are not the same kind of sins you have with other religions. Satanists never claim something bad happens in some vaguely determined afterlife when you break the rules. I get the feeling you are generalizing religions as a whole.

You are making this comment because you're assuming that the flaw in logic you spotted was also in the book, while it was simply a misinterpretation on your side of what I said. My guess is you read the book years ago, as a teenager, not in any intellectual or mental position to properly judge what you've read.

I have to agree with you. You cannot judge that which you do not know. We'll just let it rest.

SO why do people fell the need ot use the crutch of the supernatural when dealing with good and evil. Its been my experience that man has a capacity for doing good or evil that far excedes any myth.
Who is more trustworthy then all of the gurus or Buddha’s?
