Jreak a word to the wise bud. Look at the dates before you post. This thread isnt even in the right forum for the question you asked. Helpfull hint before the negative pints start rolling in. Read the FAQ's.
Now in answer to your question the easiest way to scan a file wilth norton or any other AV software that i knbow of is to find said file and right click on it. The dropdown menu should have "scan with (insert AV name here)..." simply select that and BAM your scanning that file. There is also an icon in your task manager or atleast there should be for nortons antivirus. That will bring up the controll center and from that you can perform entire system scans etc etc

Oops i guess for bringing this up again. I did a search and it came up. Being new here, i didn't know how strict you guys were about this. I look to be on topic and not outdated in my next post. Sorry again.
