    Post Google's IP addresses

    Not sure how much of a problem it can cause, but if you Google:
    "what'smyip", "whatismyip", "what is my ip", "whats my ip"

    or anything of the like, it brings up pages such as www.whatsmyip.org.
    But if you look at the description of the site, it already has an IP there....that IP belongs to the GoogleBot that cached the page. Google's bots have openly available IP's.

    I went to ARIN, and searched whois for the IP, and it gave me info that Google probably does not want available.

    Well, like I said, I'm not sure how much of a problem it is...but it's here for your knowledge.

    Whois information is public information. Everybody knows that, even the people at Google.

    So what do you think, what should not be there?

    It's the same as using WHOIS on google.com, it has their head office information. Big deal, this information is REQUIRED to register a domain. Is whois just a scary tool for you or something?

    I don't think there's privacy on the internet...and like I said, I'm not sure how much of a problem it really is. Apparently it isn't.

    Well Google emailed me back about both the problems I submitted. This one is rather erroneous as you all have said, but the other (another post ) is being submitted to the engineering team or something..I guess that one's a big issue for them.

    why does google not want everybody to have an email address? I think thats false advertising!! They should not put anything out there they don't want people to have!!!!

    ykcor: hey genius...it's BETA. that means it's still in testing stages. they only want to give it to people who are prepared to deal with problems without sending an email about "the server's down", or something stupid.

    check out other google beta projects at: http://labs.google.com/

    as you can see, alot of that stuff is not perfect...but it's still available to the public.

    another reason is the mass amount of resources required to give 100,000's of people 1000MB of space...it's not free you know..nor easy to start/maintain.
