    PearPC installation problem

    Hey,

I've recently downloaded PearPC (a PowerPC emulator) onto my PC and have started to put Mac OS X on. So far it has gone quite smoothly and is impressive, but it stops at one of the steps. I have to select a disk to install Mac OS X onto, but nothing seems to come up. I have booted the emulator from a disk "image" of 3 GiB.

I'm pretty much stuck and any suggestions of any kind would be greatly appreciated.

The sourceforge website is http://pearpc.sourceforge.net and has quite some info to look at. I run a Intel Centrino Sony VAIO (a generic Windows box) and trying to boot into Mac OS X 10.3.4.

    Thanks in advance,
    DCheng

Did you use the Darwin installation CD to create a partition?

    Hey SirDice,

Sorry it took a long time to reply; our college has extended it's filter to this site as well and I've had to go out to an internet cafe to reply. The problem is fixed; Mac OS X is up and running! Turns out I have to use disk utility to format my image into a Mac OS Extended format and not a UNIX filesystem. Darwin isn't needed as well! If anyone wants to know, you just have to rearrange the partition table in the shell to make it bootable. There is an excellent tutorial somewhere, although I've forgotten where it is.

    Cheers,
    DCheng

P.S. I do however recall the forum I found it on is http://emaculation.com...
