    Cant remove AOL icon

    I have this stupid AOL icon that is undeletable. I don't know where it came from but im fed up with it. All that happens when you right click on it is it says: "Go to Free Trial" and "create shortcut" nothing else. Heres what it looks like:

    Code:
    SELECT * FROM users WHERE clue > 0;
    0 rows returned;

    Well if your OS is Win XP and this icon is on your desktop:

    1. Right click on the desktop
    2. Select "Arrange icons"
    3. Select "desktop cleanup wizard".

    You might also look in your startup folder and the add/remove programs application in control panel and see if ypou can get rid of what is calling it.

    Good luck

    It's probably in your personal folders/desktop and is set as read only.

    Should that be the case, and you can fix it, then you should probably change that annoying sig line of yours...... just a thought....

    i may be wrong but i think he meant, that ur signature says that it extracts users who have a clue,or above 0, but since you don't have a clue how to remove the icon, why are you asking us if none of us have a clue either...

    just a guess

    Hi WhiteHat~

    The desktop cleaner basically gets rid of orphan/redundant items. Your icon looked as all it did was take you to a website, so that would be considered an orphan.

    I mentioned startup and add/remove programs just in case there was something more substantial behind it (which you should have been able to see in properties)

    Cheers
