Other Linux Security Distros?
I need a llinux distro with security tools...most probably based on knoppix. I heard of knoppix-STD but is there other distros? knoppix-STD seems quite old and not up2date.

knoppix 3.6 is not old or out of date.

Could get the latest slackware live version called "slax"
http://www.slackware-live.org/
additionally in our OS section, there's several threads listing all of the Linux distros.
cheers

Here's a site that breaks some of the Live CDs into specific areas:
Forensics
Firewalls
General Security
Penguin Sleuth wasn't a bad version and seemed more user-friendly but Knoppix-STD did seperate their tools into more specific and identifiable categories. I have found that overall most Live CDs in the Security area seem to be a behind on the times (latest updates, etc.). That said, you may want to just create your own by visiting Linux Live to get the scripts and other links.
Alternatively, you could follow the HowTo Using RPMs to create one or follow the directions given at Linux Journal, which shows how to build with an existing distro (RedHat).
Hope this helps to get you started.

Once you become familiar with RPM, PGKTOOL, etc., you’ll laugh at this:
I am looking for an LINUX distro with security tools.
have fun!
