    Assigning a static IP?

How can we assign a static IP address to box with os > 2000. When the cable is disconnected and I type IPCONFIG, it shows Media Disconnected instead of showing IP address. Please help!

    Start>Settings>Network and Dialup Connections>

Right click local area Network and change the properties of the TCP\IP protocol

Go in the Network Connections, Right Click your Local Area Connection and click Proterties, Click TCP/IP and properties. Enter your IP.

Ipconfig will NOT show your IP if your network cable is connect.
