    Browser Security Test

While browsing my bookmarks, I found this site worth a visit:
    http://bcheck.scanit.be/bcheck/

Scanit's Browser Security Test automatically checks your browser for various security problems. When the test is finished you get a complete report explaining the discovered vulnerabilities, their impact and how to eliminate them.

hi, first off i use mozilla firefox on windows, which in my eyes is secure as i can find, well in keeping with the security/usability balance.

i just ran the tests, (all tests) and it went though with all possible tests coming back all negative on standard install, i was trying to do a lot of things which could be switched to auto, as in a visual basic file trying to pass off as a sound file. and similar.

my small research proves, this is a valuable test for security, and firefox is a goer straight out of the box.

    happy christmas

On FF1.0, using the "vulnerabilities for my browser only" test. Seems to work, albeit it only tested 8 things. I think it would be funny to see how many tests IE 6 does.

I just took the test using Avant 10.0 which seemed to pass without any problems. When I went to the site to start the test it recognized the browser as IE6. I did only do the test my browser option.

The first time I did it, it found 1 high risk vulnerability but that was only because I had forgot to update my java plugin, oops .

Avant uses IE's core, so it should recognize it as IE.

Bah, when I click on the link to start the test, I get a 404 error! ( http://bcheck.scanit.be/bcheck/nojavascript.php ) Probably because I disabled Java in IE.
