I-Pod as an external Hard Drive??

Is it possible to convert an i-pod (or any other MP3 player) into an external hard drive? Not that I would do it, but I am extremely curious about the subject...

It is an external harddrive. You store your music files on it. You can store pretty much anything else on it (I've stored my digital photos on it when doing long distance bicycle tours as carrying the laptop is a little too heavy at this point).

Yup, my cousin does it. Him and his I-Pod, bah.
