Xray cameras?

So I was surfing online for wireless security cameras for my new house and I came across a sony video cam that with the proper filter lenses, you can have xray vision, enough to see through peoples clothing. Does anyone know if this is true? A google search for ADXIR gives links of companies selling the lenses, but they all point to the same site...

It is possible with specific older-type models of sony video cameras to do x-ray shots through certain types of clothing (tight fitting, dark colors tend to work best amazingly enough) - the filter is an IR filter from what I've read, but I'm quite unsure on the specific camera settings - for more info on X-ray voyeurism, I suggest you contact a voyeur site specializing in x-ray photography.

First off, never assume, it makes an ass out of you and me...secondly....as for my question, this was more of a concern of me, my wife, or my children being photographed unknowingly...so please stop making a pompous ass out of yourself. After doing further research, this technology is actually used for fire fighting. Fire fighters are able to see through smoke etc. to find burning victims....

As for the idea of XRay specs - it was all fun in the 60's, and an obvious hoax.
Cameras which sell them selves as 'XRay' today are setting themselves up for the double entendre big time.

IF they have a real capability, then they should re-invent themselves along the lines of a more mature audience.

If not :

then they should stick to the comics.

IR wouldn't be the first choice in a fire zone, but it is used in conjunction with other wavelengths to build up a 'composite' picture.

This is an interesting subject..

As xrays and InfraRed are different areas of the radio spectrum there seem to an impressive array of technology arriving for the xray end over recent years..

There are also a range of sensors , like CCDs that are sensitive in the Xray band.. most of these are being used in medical and astronomical applications..

But as for the subject.. most of what is being discussed is InfraRed Not X-Ray ..

that is correct.. except these cameras that the fire fighters are being used for 2 purposed 1st being for life saving then fire location.. that are used in SMOKE zones..ie when all that is there to see is smoke....
