Dreamcast problems!!!
I know, this is security related site, but i have a really (40 bucks ) BIG problem. Today, my sister went to this little place, were they were selling used stuff, tv´s, pc´s, consoles etc.. and she bought me a Dreamcast! cool, but here is the problem:
- When i turn it on, the screen lights up, that Dreamcast sound has well, but the BIG problem is, the image is grey with 2 white borders on top and bottom of the screen, and i cant see sh**, nothing happens then..the screen just stays that way
Can anyone please tell me if the Dreamcast i own (now), is dead???
Please help me!!!!
Happy new year to everyone!

My Dreamcasts have never had any problems, but it sounds like it's dead.
I could be wrong, but I think alot of Dreamcasts burned themselves out quickly.. I'll Google around and try to see if that was the reason they were discontinued (never looked at it much before ).
EDIT:
Well, I read through a few archived news articles and didn't find much about your problem. Dreamcast was supposedly discontinued due to low sales. I'll sift around a little more and tll you if I find anything, but from your description it sounds like it's dead, sorry. x_x

The ONLY thing left for me to do, is to try it out with the original Scart cable of it, cause im using a VGA adapter or/and a RF Tv cable (both dreamcast accessories)..
I hope its not dead cause it was a very cool present from my sister

Are you running this off your domestic TV, or does it have its own screen (TV)
If it were a PC I would look at the monitor and videocard. But AFAIK a Dreamcast doesn't have a video card.
If it is your own TV, try it on another one, it might be a compatibility issue. I have come across that with both videos and games boxes. Try to run it with equipment of similar age/technology.
Best I can think of.
