    more html help

    hello again all

happy new years / merry christmas....

okay, on to the nitty gritty...I have kind of taken the webmaster role in my band recently (i am the most computer savvy and the most sober) and was wondering what im doing wrong with my page....

its got three frames (one horrizontal rectangle at the top, one verticle rectangle at the left, and a big square of remaining space in the middle...

I am using photoshop images for the background pictures. The only problem ive been having is that there is a visable white border around all three frames, and with black background, it looks tacky. Ive tried setting all of the borders to "0" to get rid of it (no luck) and ive also tried turning the background of the main page calling the frames to a black background, but ive had no luck at getting it to go away....any suggestions?

(let me know if you need the code)

thanks in advance for your time

I need the code and perferably an example of the site up so I can see what you mean by these images having a border.

Simpler is ussually better. I programmed a site and it's principally two tables(lookey www.comradered.uni.cc) Sometimes more is not always better. Its like music, you could put 50 ideas into 50 measures but 1 idea with 49 variants would do.

    Okay,
ive made a text file with all four pages. They are in order (main rule-set, top frame, left frame, main frame) Now, ive made the images that i am using for background images in Photoshop CS (im a mac user). the border is not actually in the pictures themselves, but it devides the three frames as if i had a border enabled, or a table between the three frames. The background images themeselves are NOT bordered, its just between the three frames, and its a big white line (well, border sized white line). If you need an idea of the background, they are basically just black on the outsides with a gradiant tool making it white on the middle of the frame (no where near the frame border). Let me know if there is anything else i can do. Thanks for your help.

This does NOT help, how about you zip together ALL the files, including the images and upload them. Don't put them in one file, just zip them together and upload them.

I think I fixed your problem.

    There are some other suggestions:

    * Change the background image to not have one at all. Readability is everything and when there is a giant gradient, it makes the user get a headache.

    * Make sure you test your page to be used on several browsers on several resolutions.

These are just suggestions, and since this is your web page, you can make it look however you want it. If you need help with page design, PM me, I'll try my best to help. However, there might be others that are better suited for the job.
