Hi all. Have you recently received sms.ac invitations? Because I did, and from two guys I haven't speak with for years. Of course I didn't follow the link (these days it become dangerous follow links).
I didn't pay more attention on it until my girlfriend received the same invitation from friend of she and now, without perform any registration or action, she is sending invitations to all people on her contact list (she's using hotmail). This is very annoying because she is establishing contact with a lot of people she doesn't want (very old friends even a old boyfriend ).
My question is if any of you guys know what I'm talking about and if you know some kind of solution to stop sending invitations. Now is the third request she is sending to ALL contacts (even my father) and we don't know how to avoid it.
Thank you in advance!

Have a look at this site and it will tell you a bit more about the smc.ac "scam".
Seems like they will continue to send messages and charge the users even if they didn't want messages sent anymore. Sounds like the AOL "Free Trial Period".

Wow, thank you guys. This is worst that I thoght... Fortunatelly she didn't give them any data, it remains as spam problem, not money (directly) involved....
I hate this kind of things in the internet...
BTW, what is the country .ac domain is from? No way to stop them putting their mail servers in a black list or whatever????

.ac - Ascension Island
It's Ascension Island (.ac)
More info HerE
Ascension Island is a British Overseas Territory which, together with St Helena and Tristan da Cunha, forms a single territorial grouping under the sovereignty of the British Crown.
