    Post Dual O/S's = dual A/V's ?

I've had a quick look through for information, but appear to have been bitten by the dumass fairy ...............

I've recently gone to dual boot with W2k Pro and XP Pro.
    Win2K was first.
I have Norton NetSec 2004 on the W2K set up.

    Question :
Do I require a SECOND A/V, be it Norton or something else, installed into the XP, or is there a way to allow the one install, to protect whichever system I'm running ?

    As an additional :
Do I need to D/L extra AdAware / SpyBot etc to run in XP ?

    Details :
    C: = W2K
    D: = XP
H = Data [any programme not specifically required for XP or 2K, is loaded here.]

2 x 40GB HDD's, No 1 as above. No 2 is partitioned into 4. JUST for imaging XP and 2K onto, as backup and practice.

    TIA.

You're dual booting - so one hand can't see what the other one's doing... I hate being the bearer of bad tidings, but you'll need to install whatever AV on both sides of the partition line. Same goes with Adaware/Spybot/HJT and whatever other tools you want.

[edit] Got to thinking on this a bit more - you might be able to 'fudge' your way around it IF you can see both drives from either side of the dual boot. The 'autostart' feature of your AV still won't work on one of the two until you config it to do so, but you might be able to do it.[/edit]

I had a feeling that it wouldn't work.........

Will look up some freebie kit to try.
    This brings another question :
As the O/S's are separate and can only be run one OR the other...........
There isn't gong to be any conflicts within the system is there ?
