wiping hard drive
i wanna wipe my hard drive and i was thinking of using boot and nuke, but isnt there something i can use to do a zero fill on the drive so that it will be back to the way it was when i bought it? is this what most hd wiping utilities like autoclave do? the autoclave web page just says that it "completely erases everything" but does it do a zero fill on all of the sectors? also, if i did a zero fill would the drive have to be low level formatted again? i've heard it's impossible to do a low level format on your own: http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/L/LLF.html is that right?
