Clening up the registry?
Hello all!
I read in a newspaper for a program called Regestry Mecanic 4.0. The words said for that program were great, but I can't give so much money for it.
Can someone recommend me a free one that is also working very well??
Thanks in advance!

Hi
I got very good results with RegVac[1]. After that clean, I found some entries which
RegVac left out with Windows Registry Repair Pro[2]. The free version can only delete
15 entries per scan, but after RegVac there is not much left. Registry Mechanic is good,
but the combination of the two above is as effective, as much as I can say. RegCleaner[3]
is free, but did not perform so well.
Cheers.

Thanks for the reply! As I said I'm looking for something free .
On the web site of RegCleaner it is written:
Small in size, free and very easy to use!
But when you start it:
Unlicensed version 30 days left. LOL!
Doesn't matter I made a scan with it. It found more than 1400 entrys that were not OK. It repaired them and deleted some, but my computer doesn't seem to start faster . I'm wondering if there is still something in my registry left hahaa
Every time I start the program it always discover something. Funny!!!
Can you recomend me any other program?
I tried Tweak now RegCleaner, but I'm not very much satisfied with it.

They have free versions for D/L.
Easy to use too.
It MIGHT be a 30 day item, but I can't remember.
But, I have used the RegSupremePro a LOT at work [schools] no problems with it.
so now I'm in my SIXTIES FFS
WTAF, how did that happen, so no more alterations to the sig, it will remain as is now

Thanks for the answers so far!
I would like to ask something more. Is it normal that every scan I make finds something not OK in the registry?

Is it normal that every scan I make finds something not OK in the registry?
Assuming that you ARE talking about Registry scanning ?
How often are you scanning ?
is it a 'Deep' or 'Normal' scan ?
How much do you remove after each scan ?
Are the 'articles' linked to anything that might be picked up by the AO holy trinity [AdAware / SpyBot S+D / CWSHredder]
Is it the 'SAME' item/s each time ?
If the offending item/s is/are appearing every time, it could be that you have an 'infection' that is rebuilding itself on each boot.
OR :
You are not removing everything associated with them.
OR :
you need to RTFM
[edit]
it is not normally found that the same ? items are there each scan
Which cleaner did you go with in the end ?

Can you give us an example of these entries? are they the same every time?
It could be an application, or even malware that is trying to re-instal itself?
Cheers
