I just installed Google's newest version of the Desktop Search (they added a lot of new documents you can search) and started poking around in its directory through Explorer when I noticed it had this warning:
WARNING - Do not move or delete these files - your system may stop working To uninstall use Add-Remove programs in the control panel or run GoogleDesktopSearchSetup.exe -uninstall
Now that's got me curious. Do any of you have better knowledge of this program so that you can tell me exactly why deleting these files may foobar my system? I thought the program just made an index of everything on your computer and then queried that index to produce results. Maybe it's doing something more and tying in the operating system somehow? Any explainations or educated guesses would be appreciated! I've attached a copy of the warning if any of you care to see exactly how it looked.
