I am going to purchase a good laptop. Have about 5k USD for this. It is replacing my old IBM ThinkPad. I was thinking a MAC laptop, Sony Vaio, or maybe something comparable. This will be my security laptop.
The requirements I can think of…
-Linux runs perfect
-Will use my GPS (USB) and Senao PCMCIA Nic
-Would like to have a serial interface for Cisco console (or maybe need a special USB cable?)
-Biometric login to protect my corporation passwords
-Gig Ethernet over Cat5
-Long Battery life
-Light in physical weight
Can anyone think of anything else I would require?
Do I need good memory for Kismet, IRS, Cain and Abel, etc? Or can I sacrifice Processor speed and desktop memory for weight.
