Not too expensive (compared to the Dell I was looking at)
IBM so its corporate compliant
Linux should be fine.
Although its heavy 5lbs.

Gig Ethernet... WTF? Cat 5 should be more then enough...
I beg to differ.. isn't this statement a lot like "you don't need more than 640k of RAM" or "the world market for computers will not exceed 5"
When a system is being speced to cover a test enviroment you do need to consider the most common enviroments, and Gigabit-lans would now be in better than 5% of networks (based on my local experience..we are a backwoods area)
Also haveing 2 network adaptors is almost like oxygen.. especially if your dropping the PC inline to sniff..
