    Ide RAID Controller

    Hi there,

I have a problem...and I am not sure it is a hardware failure...

    I have setup a w2k WS using a SIL 0680 ata/133 Raid Controller.

2 Brand new Seagate IDE drives.

Throw in the w2k disk and it recognizes the drives and installs.

I use the W2k disk management to create more partitions and format with NTFS.

apply all updates...tranfer data...join the ws to the domain...reboot

"press a key to reboot" message.

The bios find the controller, the controller bios finds the drives?

but I cannot get it to boot.

I throw in a w2k install disk...it cannot find the drives to repair or install??

I think the controller has failed?

    Ant insight is greatly appreciated

    Needed a new driver...

    From the vendor

Fixed problem on Win2K/XP of converting a drive that requires 48-bit address to a dynamic disk
Thought I post the solution...I was freaking..cause I had just spent a huge amount of time on this machine
    Repairing now
