    Seems you have a double poster, A suggestion would be to delete one of them
    to avoid insult and reds.

    Some problems may be encountered when updating to Service Pack 2, this may be your
    problem, maybe not, i have been here nearly 2 years, and still don't know any better.

    I can only suggest you google your dvd, and search any problems relating to service pack 2.....

    Have you tried to reinstall the drivers ? You could give that a go.

    thanks for the input, sorry bout the double post. It should be taken care of now.

    I have tried everything i can think of, i blew the case out, switched my dvd writer to master instead of cable select, reinstalled burning software, tryied the HP PC doctor, nothing has worked.

    aura2....use the link in my previous post (kudos again to mb) and READ the various FAQs (if you haven't already) as you will find plenty of great advice related to all facets of burning/burners, including the issue you are having..
