Microsoft Opens Up With Linux Support

    Hi.
    That's intressing.....

    Hmm.....

Microsoft has done what could have once been considered unthinkable: It has begun to support Linux in its products. In a keynote speech given at the Microsoft Management Summit in Las Vegas, CEO Steve Ballmer laid out the company's plans to expand its virtualization software to support other platforms, including Linux.

Would that be a good thing or a bad thing.

Lets hope at least reading of ext3 and reiserfs is in longhorn.

Nah that would make things way to easy.

I didn't read TFA, but they are only supporting Linux because VMWare does.
Their virtual "server" or virtual PC sofware is no good if it doesn't run other OSs...

There is no possible way they can compete with VMWare without linux support.
I prefer VMWare to Virtual pc/server anyway.

Virtual PC had support for linux BEFORE M$ bought it. They crippled it so linux was harder to use on Virtual PC. It could still be done, but it wasn't supported and they made it more difficult.

If you can't beat them... join them. Or.. buy them. Then cripple VMWare too...
