    xp pro-backup fail-pls help

    hi and ty for quick response,
    start>all programs>accessories>system tools>backup>wizards comes
    switched to advance mode>automated system recovery wizard>next>select media files is greyed(cant change)backup media or file name(chose second disk(slave)>finish>backup failed error returned while creating the volume shadow copy:catastrophic failure.backup aborted
    ok tried to change location of saving and same result.
    what i am doing wrong???

    sry guys grrrrrr
    volume shadow service was stopped in services.
    was wondering what it could be ty.solved
    well at least some guys can follow and se how back up is done in xp(new members)

    Try using the "Browse" button and select the backup to restore

    a word of advice, in my experience, DO NOT PUT YOUR FAITH IN WINDOWS BACKUP UTILITY, it can't keep your data intact. If you have a large amount of data, you should consider to use ArcServ, i belive is one of the best software to backup your data.

    Ahhh Yuris... didnt you read unvi$ible's 2nd post?..

    His Problem was SOLVED.. the volume shadow service was not enabled, that is stoped.. not running..

    Oh a hint when you want to quote use [ quote] text in here[ /quote] with out the spaces after the [
