Just Ten Years Ago!!!
Before the computer age,
An APPLICATION was for employment.
A PROGRAMME was a television show.
WINDOWS were something you hated to clean
A KEYBOARD was a piano.
MEMORY was something you lost with age.
A CD was a bank account.
COMPRESS was something you did to garbage.
LOG ON was adding wood to a fire.
A HARD DRIVE was a long trip on the road.
A MOUSE PAD was where a mouse lived.
CUT you did with scissors.
PASTE you did with glue.
A WEB was a spider's home.
And a VIRUS was a flu !!!!!

Had similar posted on my BBS in 96, and at that time it had seemed PC's had been around forever..
Infact the IBM/Clone have been around since 1981, and off the shelf Personal Computers have been around since the mid to late seventies, in my neck of the woods I can point to the trash 80's and Apple II's of 1977/8..
Bloody hell BC was trying to be funny.. and he forgot the punch lines..

And A Floppy was not something you mentioned in Public..especialy a 3 and a half inch one.. 10 inch and you were braging..
ZIP you used to keep the floppy hidden
Microsoft also was something you didnt mention in public (You still Dont)

Penguins were only found in the southern regions and Antarctica
Scan is what you did to the horizion
Burning was reserved to old paper, wood and cigs
Bandwidth was a very fat singing group
and Megahertz was the result of a Hammer hitting your thumb
A Jump drive was a method of starting a Car
RAM are Boy sheep
ROM was misspelt Room
Clocks gave you the time
Slackware was loose fitting cloths
Software ..womens unmentionables
HArdware.. hammers, saws, timber (yeh still on the F... Renno)
Search was for lost childeren
A TUX is what you wore to a formal occasion
A Monitor was snotty smart arse in a hallway at school
a Byte is what was taken out of apples..not put in them
a Bit a part of a jig-saw puzzel
A Worm what was found in the apple after the byte
