    wow - really decriptive topic

quick hint - you will get more replies and more help if you let people know what your thread is about without them needing to open it. We could have someone on the forums who has attempted the exact same thing bu they could have skipped right past this thread - come on just m that could be anything :

    Mother's against goat throwing
    Mad man sniffs cheese
    My friend thinks you're cute
    Masked man holds up post
    Mind how you go
M&m's mel in your mouth not in your hand

Next tiem try something like 'Removing Office XP thro DOS' it might get you more replies (other than my bitchy one )

What operating system are you using? in other words do you actually have DOS, or is it command line entry in Win2000/Win XP.

Remember that you will not be able to access anything that has been created in it afterwards unless you reinstall or go for Office 2003. Earlier versions will not work with them unless you first convert your stuff using Office XP.

I do not understand why you do not want to use the uninstall programs utility. To attempt to remove something as complicated as the Microsoft Office Suite using DOS is a very bad idea.........for example DOS is blissfully unaware of the Windows Registry............I do hope that the same does not apply to you ..............you would have to remove all that stuff manually

By "unattended" do you mean it, or do you mean remotely? After all you can use the uninstall utility and walk away.................you would be sat there for quite some time fixing the registry if you do it any other way.

I googled, "office comand line remove" and came up with this as the sixth item.

    http://www.kbalertz.com/kb_Q296067.aspx

Its for office 2000, but the same concept should apply to XP. Just like Nihil, I'm not quite sure why you would want to remove office like this, but none the less this information should lead you in the right direction.

Spot on! zENGER ....................that is for a "remote" uninstallation rather than ""unattended" . As nataraj.asture is not a native English speaker, I did wonder if this was the subtle distinction that had been lost.

Nataraj, please accept appologies for my bad manners I forgot to say "welcome to AO"
