It may be commercialized to high heaven, but I use father's day for other reasons. My father left the country when I was 10, leaving his 3 children behind. But he's still my father, and ther only father I'll ever have.
So now, fifteen years later, I use father's day as a way to call him up and tell him that although he ****ed up royally, and I may never be able to forgive him for that, I still love him. That's what father's day SHOULD be about. A day to forget about everything bad that's happend between fathers and children and regail in the knowledge that you still have each other. Unfortunately, not everyone has this luxury or chooses to take advantage of it.
The same thing holds true fot mother's day. For me, it's the oppurtinuity to tell my mother that I know how much I've hurt her, and that I'm sorry.
It may be a commercial money trap, but I use it for my own ends because the commercial hype reminds me that it's about time I told my parents how much they mean to me.
I don't buy gifts, just to prove to myself and others that it's more than the commercialism that makes me do it. I try to turn all the commercial holidays into something better. I think everyone should.

As it comes down to baseline, it is how we see things that matters, me and my father have our different view points, but still we enjoy being together.
We are not at talking with each other but we understand each other, and that really matters to me. Happy fathers day.
It\'s all about sense of power.

Happy Father's Day
Even thou my children don't live with their father they still love him for who he is
I had to google 'jfgi' to see what it meant. The irony is overwhelming.
