    Anti-Points and Pos-Neg PHP Mods.

I really like the Anti-points system on this board.
I have a forum where I use a Karma system. It's very basic though. You can neg or pos two people in a 12 hour period and their Karma is shown under their avatar.
    However,
I like the way it is here where you can neg or pos a person for their posts or replys and in turn the way it effects the overall state of the thread as neg, pos, even etc. I'm assuming this is the way that it works.
But what I'm getting at, is I'm curious if I can find this modification anywhere to add to my phpbb site.
If anyone can point me in the right direction, that would be great.
    Thanks.

I think JP (founder of the site) used the Karma system as well, he just modified it himself and it became the AP system.

    Ok.. Thanks.
I'm not that sweet with SQL varibles and arrays just yet. But I will consider doing it myself. Appreciate the heads up.

Yeah, the original owner of the site set up the anti-point system for various purposes. As of right now it's more of a self-moderation for the site (somewhat) but yeah. As for your question, I'm not sure if JUPM would want to give you the codes and all of the algo's for the system. You'd probably have to contact intmon or someone for all that information.

(BTW: Last I checked, there were MILLIONS of coordinated algos for the system, no?)

Spyder: Something tells me JP/JupM wouldn't spend that much effort on AP's.

Jack/albn/alittlebitnumb made a karma system for phpbb2 and posted it here somehwere. I have no clue what his handle is these days, perhaps he can show himself.

I've been working with vBulletin for a while now on various sites and the hack at this site is the Karma system released as a hack for vBulletin 2.x. Since version 3 of vBulletin it has been actually built into the board with new hacks coming out modifying how it can be used.

You might check over at http://www.vbulletin.org and look through some of the code modifications to get a feel of what people have done. Jack did a great job with his port as well.

I don't know how phpBB is coded now, as it's been forever since I've worked with it, but I'd think it would be easy to write up a system similar to what is running on here based on what has already been released between the two systems.

Jack would be the one to talk to at length about the Karma system port and if you need help adding features, I may be able to translate between the two systems and help you set up something pretty tight.

The code has not changed a lot on PHPbb, and Noia and I messed with an AP-like system. We never finished it because we figured it would be abused. It's been a while since I used PHPbb, and would have to look in the code to see what the hell I actually did.

    What BB are you using?
