Well i got a question What exactly does the -T switch do in nmap I don't quite get it -T <Paranoid|Sneaky|Polite|Normal|Aggressive|Insane> General timing policy Thanx a lot
I believe (correct me if I'm wrong) it means how fast nmap will send out packets. In other words, timing of port scan.
Come on guys... It's not like I make it an habit, but in this case, how hard can it be to RTFM... http://www.insecure.org/nmap/data/nmap_manpage.html Ammo

Hi In addition, to ammo's post, "Secrets of Network Cartography: A Comprehensive Guide to nmap"[1] makes a fairly good read about nmap. In particular, the default timing settings (-T) are given in a table[2]. Cheers. [1] http://www.networkuptime.com/nmap/index.shtml [2] http://www.networkuptime.com/nmap/page09-09.shtml
