Or what ? You're gonna neg him till he's banned ?
1st: I think you mean Hacker Jargon
definition:
The Jargon File is a glossary of hacker slang. The original Jargon File was a collection of hacker slang from technical cultures including the MIT AI Lab, the Stanford AI Lab (SAIL), and others of the old ARPANET AI/LISP/PDP-10 communities including Bolt, Beranek and Newman (BBN), Carnegie-Mellon University (CMU), and Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI).
2: No, you can not hack computers legally on this site.

one of the links to Eric Raymonds site as posted is probably the definitive jargon resource.
if you are really interested, try to pickup a book by Steve Levy, titled "Hackers".
http://mosaic.echonyc.com/~steven/hackers.html
it's a great read. all about the old time MIT hackers. really gives credit and respect where it's due.
:-)
btw - not true. you are not allowed to hack or launch any form of attack on someone elses computer, server or whatever. if you are really curious. just get an old PC and hub. get them networked. install an old ver. of linux & apache. and let her rip. as long as it;s your own machine, you can take a sledge hammer to it for all we care.

And no, as said none of the things on THIS site are legally allowed to be hacked. You may want to try out some sites like Hackthissite.org, learntohack.org, hellboundhackers.org, etc...
You can find alot of them by just using google.
And I believe that everyone above me covered the Jargon file thoroughlly enough, so I'll leabe it at that.
