    forced to wear bra...

i dont know about everyone else but im really getting sick and tired of all these supposed stories of "extreme" prisoner abuse..."they made me wear a bra...". Poor F'ing baby.

    now THIS is a story!

During a routine patrol in Baghdad June 2, Army Pfc. Stephen Tschiderer, a medic, was shot in the chest by an enemy sniper, hiding in a van just 75 yards away. The incident was filmed by the insurgents.

Tschiderer, with E Troop, 101st “Saber” Cavalry Division, attached to 3rd Battalion, 156th Infantry Regiment, 256th Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, was knocked to the ground from the impact, but he popped right back up, took cover and located the enemy’s position.

After tracking down the now-wounded sniper with a team from B Company, 4th Battalion, 1st Iraqi Army Brigade, Tschiderer secured the terrorist with a pair of handcuffs and gave medical aid to the terrorist who’d tried to kill him just minutes before.

Watch the vidio the insugents took. (man! i bet that snipper was shocked)

Ted Kennedy to Probe Gitmo Lingerie Torture

A day after the Senate Armed Services Committee heard testimony that detainees at Guantanamo Bay were being tortured with women's underwear, Committee member Ted Kennedy announced he would make his first-ever visit the facility.

    my hero!

why isn't he flying to bagdad to shake Tschiderer's hand? would that cause him to lose votes for his party?

There is a rumour that the guys who made that video were talking in Dutch to each other... Not sure if that's true, though. Apparantly one asked (in Dutch) if he had hit him and the other said Yes.)

Does anyone know if this is true? (I hope NOT!)

    I found this:

Amazing. Mrs. Greyhawk, from what you tell us you seem to have gotten the translation of the Arab speakers from the chat forum over at militaryphotos.net?

Speaking Dutch myself (I am Flemish), I was first of all amazed by the story and, a few seconds into the video, surprised: it may seem very odd, but it sounds as if two of the speakers are actually speaking Dutch!

One of them seems to ask (twice) "Hebben we hem geraakt?" ("Did we hit him?"), while the other responds "Ja." ("Yes.").

There's a discussion going on about the matter on this Dutch blog: http://www.geenstijl.nl/mt/archieven....html#comments
One of the commenters says it's an Iraqi dialect, and hears this:

"Adhum el garath?" ("Shall I put the stuff away?")
    "La!" ("Nee!)
    "Wegah moeh?" ("Did he fall?")
    "I, wegah!" ("Yes, he fell.")

Strangely enough, 50% or more of the other commenters really believe it sounds Dutch, and I must say I have to concur with them.
Do you have any more info on the translations?

On a related note, there's a link in the same comments that points to an e-mail Mr. Tschiderer purportedly sent to the firm that is manufacturing the Kevlar body armor: http://moneycentral.groups.msn.com/A...29781091305460 (I see it's also on the website of Point Blank: http://www.pointblankarmor.com/news.asp)

Strength to all of you, refusing to stand along the sidelines!

I can see how someone could mistake this for Dutch (and more particularly, a specific Flemish accent), but it's not.

The stuff they're mumbling before the shot doesn't sound Dutch at all.
The first thing he keeps on repeating right after he shoots ("Allah guh akmar" or something) doesn't sound Dutch at all, the second thing (sounds indeed like "Adhum el garath") kinda sounds like a Flemish dialect version of "Heb je hem geraakt?" ("Did you hit him?"), but is not (the "k" sound is missing, among other things - not Dutch at all).

And the guy clearly says "la", not "ja" ("ja" is Dutch for "yes").

I also think it's the "Adhum el garath?", But if it turns out to be "Heb je 'm geraakt" the other one wasn't shouting "Allah Akhbar !" ( God Allmighty ! ) but was shouting "Alaaf Hakkebar !" which sounds a lot like Limburgs (a southern dutch dialect) during Carnaval season.

    Where are the other dutchies?

Yes it doesn't really make sense. If a terrorist organisation had a sleeping cell in Holland/Belgium they would hardly waste them on the streets of Iraq?

Far easier to import people from Pakistan or Indonesia, not that they seem short of local people anyway?

The only time you bring in foreigners is if you need specialist talents. There was no such requirement in this case.

    Allah guh akmar
    "Allah u akbar"?..............certainly NOT Dutch

Just saw on CNN that this is part of what they're saying - not in Dutch :

Go ahead, shoot him in the name of God
I’m waiting for him to straighten up
    God is great

    Yes,

I believe that "Allah u Ackbar" means "God is Great/Almighty"
