I have been getting these in my email for a few days now. First thing I noticed is that they are not even addressed to me or my email address. I know it a scam and all but I was wondering if there was an agency that I could turn this into for futher evaluation.

There are several new 4-1-9 SPAMS floating around. This is one of them. Others include a well written plea from a British banker and a "urgent" message from the king of Nyrobi.

On an nice twist, Nigeria is finally starting to deal with this. I didn't know (but found out at a conference -- so not sure how true it is) that the 4-1-9 scam is the 2nd industry in Nigeria as far as monetary importing is concerned

This type of phising is so common that it has its own name Nigeria 419 scam.
Do use the 'Search' function to see if the topic has already been created, nothing personal, just to avoid repeated/same topic posts.

During the 80's, I had reason to visit Nigeria, and I thought the main industry for bringing money into the country was 'dash' ???

Sort of like a tip ..........with a twist.

To get INTO a taxi, you had to dash the man.
to get into the hotel, you had to dash the man.

All I know is, I was damn glad it was a business venture, and I could write it off as 'expenses'

Yea.... I had some South African poser send me some crap like that.... I replied asking how this got past my Spam blocker...... He replied with a very large email explaining that it was not spyware... and he was very serious & had dedicated alot of time to this. Shortly after.... some Chinese banker tried the same thing..... They both got flamed like witches during a witch hunt..... I haven't had anymore?
