which network multiplayer game you play?

    Hi guys,

which network multiplayer games you play in your free time? Actually i am not looking for huge 3D games but the small sized games. I usually play games from GameHouse but they are not network multiplayer. So i am looking for some new one which can play with buddies on the network.

    Thanks
Excuse me, is there an airport nearby large enough for a private jet to land?

I've played a bit of NeoPets but these days I'm just too busy playing games. Especially online games... I'm not that much of a game player anyways. I know that Warlords III is a network game, but a bit antique. It's a turn-based game, though. So you have to wait for your opponent to finish his turn most of the time...

if u want light graphics and some kicass fun try out bzflag. available both on linux and windows. If want some nice graphics, anything from easports is swell. Me and friends usually just frag ourselves out with unreal tournament or quake3d. Basically, there's millions out there.
And if u wanna boost ur ego, try building ur yahoo! games ranking.

Am wishing the game NetHack would support multi-player support, though. It's such an antique turn-based game, and it has only improved in the years. (Then again, I have only played it ever since I started playing with computers, some 8 years ago.) I like it also because it's free and available on so many different platforms. And no two games are alike.

Best of all, if you die in the game and start again, you might meet some ghosts from the past...

Now, if NetHack would have a multi-user support so multiple users can walk through the game, it would become real family fun...

However, it's a turn-based game. And the disadvantages of turn-based games is that everyone has to wait if one member ran off to the toilet or whatever. It's slow.

The alternative would be a real-time game but then the player on the toilet risks losing the game simply because he has to choose between the call from nature or winning the game. I am actually wondering right now how many people actually pissed their pants while playing online games simply because they couldn't leave the action.

So those are the two reasons that I'm not too interested in online games. Well, online chess, perhaps. Or other simple boardgames. Or games where each player can live in their own timeline without a real interaction with other players. NeoPets offers this kind of game environment. All I need for Neopets is a webbrowser and internet connection anyways.

But I am wondering about what kinds of multiplayer games you are thinking about. Turn-based, realtime or something else?

In that case you might want to visit www.gamespot.com they have a myriad of different PC game choices along with reviews, descriptions, and actual gameplay trailers/footage. Definately head there if your trying to make up your mind about getting a game.

Personally, I used to play Final Fantasy XI a ton, however, that got to repetative and time consuming for me and I lost interest.

Now I play another MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role playing game) called Guild Wars. The game itself is excellent IMO, and best of all there is no monthly fee. (However, I have heard rumors they will be charging around December when they release the expansion, can anyone confirm this?).

Other games I haven't played personally but would like to check out are World of Warcraft and Lineage II.

As for now however, I wait patiently for the release of Final Fantasy XII... which may never come http://finalfantasyxiidelay.ytmnd.com

If you have a PlayStation then may I humbly recommend to you the very best game of all time IMHO Final Fantasy VIII.
The real question is not whether peace can be obtained, but whether or not mankind is mature enough for it...

    [pong]DOOM [/pong]

    Happy now Gore

I like Doom, it's just that Doom doesn't like me
    Never seem to get anywhere
and when going up head to head, it's always MY head that's lost.

I like to try the games I buy [Stronghold, Red Alert, Total War, CS] in their online form too, but, again, I'm not that good a gamer to survive long enough to see whether it IS any good

Doom is just doomed. That's why we didn't mention it.
