You can download the Norton AntiVirus virus definitions file from their site. You may want to add that to the disk as well. (In case safe mode with networking won't go.)

Well, he says he partitioned and reloaded his hard drive. Sez even in safe mode the bug wouldn't let him run Norton, and that Spybot continued to trigger the relay to the casino.
Thanks for all the info and help. And if anyone knows. I'm curious whether this was actually the behavior of some infection, or there must have been other factors.
