What is the NSA's opinion on new encryption ideas.
I have invented a new form of encryption called the JABEF function. The algorithm splits the encryption algorithms into seperate parts allowing for an exponentially increase in the cipher texts' unbreakability. Would NSA mind if I export it?

You have to register it and let the feds decide, failure to do so _could_ fall under anti-terrorism laws since encryption devices are classified as munitions.

Welcome to AO.. Overlord..
I'd bet the members here would like to hear some more about this increased unbreakability with the JABEF function..
(Damn I should trademark that line, exponentially increased unbreakability)
Still kinda funny that in the land of the free you can't even export your own inventions..
ASCII stupid question, get a stupid ANSI.

He was just talking about getting in trouble for exporting it. We have members from around the world on this forum, so what sense would it make to post it here?

<i>Export:
To send or transport (a commodity, for example) abroad, especially for trade or sale. </i>
The lack of selling is critical here and means posting about it would fall under freedom of speech and not exportation, the only exception would be if it were a national security issue, but I gather he hasn't spoken to the government at all, much less about national security.
