Installing Knoppix 3.8 to Your Hard Drive (Flash)
Well, I normally do security videos, and this is not exactly a security video, but it still may be useful to some. I created a Flash Animation of how to install Knoppix 3.8 to your hard drive. It’s 3.75MB in size. You can find it at:
http://www.irongeek.com/i.php?page=videos/knoppix1
Hope it’s of use to some of you. It’s a great way to get a Linux box up and running fast. I illustrate how to add extra tools after the install by setting up Dsniff on the box. Enjoy. It may still have some bugs, email me if you find any major ones.

Useful Video, I've never installed 3.8 to hard drive seems pretty standard.
This should help out all those people who use Knoppix as a segue between Windows and Linux. They can finally make the switch even if they're new to computers.
Oh, and to all who read this. You should Bookmark Irongeek's site www.irongeek.com There are some great tutorials on there.

Thanks irongeek. I used to just use vmware and capture the ISO... but installing it is certainly faster.
Slightly offtopic, and I don't mean to draw attention away from your tutorial... however, the peeps over at whoppix have also done one on how to install whoppix 2.7 to your hard drive. They use vmware in their video... but the info is easily applied to a dedicated box.

Hey,
Nice tutorial Irongeek!
Is dual booting with Knoppix and WinXP pro standard as with normal distros? Is there anything I should know before I go ahead?
Thanks,
kurt

I've yet to do a dual boot with Knoppix, but I'll update this thread when I do.
