    Oh dear : that's a shame ...........

You will have to post a LOT more detail than that .....
and I mean a LOT more than just the basic OS / PC whereabouts etc ......

SE is always at the forefront of peoples minds here, help to diffuse the worries, and MAYBE you'll get help........

Otherwise, as you have no history here, people will just think the worst...........

    I know I ALREADY do
so now I'm in my SIXTIES FFS
WTAF, how did that happen, so no more alterations to the sig, it will remain as is now

    Hello 3nt3r

As Mr. Loxley has suggested, we need more information.....................operating system, machine, what is this "home folder", what was used to encrypt it, what can you and cannot do, and so on.

These days I would tend to look at RESETTING a password, or RECOVERING the required files & data.................that is generally far easier.

OK, I will be perfectly honest with you, my first question is "how much is the job worth?".........customers don't like paying, so I tend to go for the quickest and easiest (cheapest ) solution, unless it is an academic security question.

Over to you my friend tell us anything you believe might help..............no one will criticise you for it

    Red face Data recovery

    Some things to think about..

How important is the information in the folder to you.
    • is there unique data there or just stuff you downloaded
    • how hard would it be to just re-make the unique data
    • how much time and money would you spend to recover the data

Also exactly what version of Winguard Pro 2005 is it (5.7.3.1 or 5.8 or 5.9.6 or something)..
What version of windows are you running (XP or 98 or something)..

You could try and contact the manuefacturer..
