How about adding a section on this subject.

"Botnets are computers infected by worms or Trojans and taken over surreptitiously by hackers and brought into networks to send spam, more viruses, or launch denial of service attacks."

In what way? How to "use" one, find one, prevent one etc?

I am inclined to support Nokia's view, particularly the implied part.

Basically, I see a "bot" as a computer that has been "taken over" and is susceptible to remote access and manipulation. The only difference a "botnet" has to me, is that it involves multiple instances of such machines?

I believe that we already have forums to deal with all the circumstances, so I don't really see much benefit in a forum that deals with multiple occurrences? You should be able to include that information in a post in one of the other forums?

    just my thoughts

N & N are on the mark. Also eradication of the infection is the same. Take it off line and out of service, break out your cleaners, or format & reinstall. As mentioned, these areas are already covered under existing forums.

I am talking about a general section on botsnets. eg: trading sources, selling private 'hacked' ircds, what ranges are good to scan, hosting 'stuff' etc

    Oh Sorry,

I guess I miss-understood your initial request. If I now understand you correctly, you would like a forum dedicated to conducting illegal activities. If that be true, go back to the anal cavity you slid out of. You're at the wrong site.

    cheers

    kasaku...that was an actual question...

I'm curious as to why you think you're one of the supposed ' good guys '...most of you get banned before you can answer the question...and as some member seems to want to keep you around by pos APing you, I might as well take advantage of that and try to understand what reasoning floats around the mind of someone like yourself...

    so...

    I'd appreciate an answer.

    Eg
