ok... Im not even going to ask why you want some rainbow tables.

And I am thinking I will hold back the "DO you have any idea how much resources that uses ?" thing. I am goin to assume you have a couple gigs to spare.

    From the oxid website:
    - A new type of Rainbow Tables has been added to Winrtgen v1.3. "FastLM" tables can be used against LM Hashes and provide both faster generation and cryptanalysis. FastLM tables are not compatible with standard tables for LM Hashes generated by RainbowCrack, renaming the filenames is useless.

Thanks for the pointer on fastLM.

Actually, I have some hardware which I need to stress test and plan to use Winrtgen to generate the CPU load and create some tables at the same time.

Under initial testing, I can run 3 processes of Winrtgen on one box with no problems. Disk space is no issues either.

    very interesting thing...
do you have reports regarding number of CPUs OS etc. and the load ,time it takes to generate?

Hardware: HP Proliant Dual Intel Xeon 3.6Ghz/2GB RAM
    OS: Windows Server 2003 SP1

hash MinLen MaxLen Index ChainLen ChainCount NoTables
    fastlm 1 7 0 4000 46000000 16

    Success probability: 95.33%

    Charset: alpha-numeric-symbol14-space

    Table pre-computation time: ~1.5 days

Each process: winrtgen.exe CPU utilization 25%

I can run 3 of these processes for a total load of 75% on the server.

    very nice !!
you#ve got the right machine ...do you have mathematical software installed
or - if clustered - included in the cluster management ?

No extra software installed except winrtgen.exe to generate the tables.

The machines are not clustered but I have 3 of them which are all the same configuration which I have access to.
