tv tuner card problem
i have pinnacle pctv card on my system.it was working fine bt recently the software started hanging.i installed/uninstalled pctv vision/stereo many times bt when pctv assistant runs it shows device test failed.when i start pctv vision it shows that software has encountered a problem and need to close.i have even downloaded the recent version of pctvstereo from the net but that too didnt helped.ihave even downloaded seprately all the drivers required to run the application but it came to no use.
the device manager also shows an unknown device whose location is on "SAA7134 TV Card - Video Capture".the 'device instance id' is: STREAM\7134TVTUNER\5&11EC8734&0&0

Hi,
1. Uninstall the device and all its software
2. Power down and remove the card.
3. Clean the contacts and slot.
4. Power on without the card.............remove any "strange" devices
5. Reboot in safe mode and run scandisk and defrag
6. Power down
7. Reinstall the card and reload the software.
If it does not work after that, I would say that your card is fried?
Good luck

Another thing to try....
Is go to the vendors site and get a driver update.
Sometimes an OS update or another application you have installed will knock out drivers...or install dll versions that are no longer compatible with the device driver version you are using.
